Zingy February

Last month was all about orange. I saw the colour orange everywhere.

Starting with ordering my first project life album in Clementine I'm beginning to love this zesty colour. I was tidying my craft area in the flat and decided to use orange envelope as my handmade Valentine's card.

One of my favourite friend is wearing a brilliant orange jumper which confirmed that happy colour is addictive and slowly merging up for the summer.

Somehow I keep getting dreams of moths and pink. I still find it fascinating and strange at the same time when what one stresses about lurk in flashes while asleep.
Sunny day always start to a good day. I manage to fill three sketchbook and looking forward to do more sewing tomorrow.

I almost forget how lovely and comforting reading The Little Prince was. I think sometimes you need to have that quiet time before the madness of deadlines are coming.

I look forward to finish this term with work that makes me happy, sending apology letter to friends (for being a miserable hermit),  hopefully treat myself to a good pampering spa day, and read (paper based) book before the madness start again.

Back on it

It takes a walk in the park, sunshine, coffee with a friend, and a very inspiring jacket from Zara to get my brain engine going to get exciting again about the current project that I'm working at. Facing the music is also on the radar on how important, but slightly frustrating to keep up to date with folder work. Sadly this pretty jacket below is way out of my budget this season as I have wept for 4 months on saving up for a new sewing machine.

It made me think very hard on what I want to achieve this summer on developing my self esteem to show my work and hopefully sell to make ends meet.

In the next few days you will see some of my drawing and my favorite hand stitched pieces that I've done (sound a bit showy I know). It's great to hear feedback from my fabulous tutor in the studio, but it's quite challenging also to hear what strangers (or professional) says constructively about your work. 

Here's a start of the brief preview (until I get my head around to put it on a website).

The Fine strokes

I was so happy to be able to help setting up two gorgeous stand at Knit and Stitch show in Harrogate. And I had a quick preview of Tilike Schwarz's work before it was hanged for public to see.

 A couple of my work from the Trend book project was also up among the other fab sample of work from the rest of the year group.

 All these efforts are for raising money for the New Designer show. So Be sure to spend your pocket money on Bradford College stand to get those delicious handmade goodies.

Cabbages and Roses mission

I finally manage to visit one my favourite English clothing brand, Cabbages and Roses. It was a very hot and sticky day. I almost gave up half way through King's Road, distracted by a fantastic cowboy boots shop R soles. And so they say 'If there's a will, there's a way'. The atmosphere, and the clothes that was for sale was just fantastic. The mood of the shop was just as gentle as the the new collection of clothes that was for sale. I was so excited to be in the shop and left my favourite long umbrella behind.

Note to be remember: ' Must attach all belonging item to oneself, when entering a beautiful shop'.

New heat wave

Welcome.
It's been such a hot and exciting weekend. My recent colourful project has inspired me to be a little bit more confident on creating this blog. There is a preview of a trend book page that I have design alongside the recent graduate show of my course in Bradford college Lister building, Bradford. It will be open for public on Saturday 23rd of June 2012. Hope everyone can make it.
A little bit of what I have been stitching for the project lately.

A trimming sample for lingerie, using Ceramic and up-cycling old crochet and velvet bow. I love playying around with beads and the elastic ruffles ribbon found in Samuel Taylor, Leeds.
