Sweet Pink

Thou I am perfectly happy on dressing my daughter in second hand clothing, sometimes there aren't enough item on sale within the right size. And as her growth spurts is rapidly fast I had to find few basic items for the little lady so that she could change into. During an update wardrobe splurge for myself and my mother, I couldn't resist looking at Primark's childrenswear and home department. Above pictures was few of my favourite bits. BG had so many compliments on the 3 piece sets of heart prints blouse. As mention on the previous post about her weight, she is gaining weight perfectly and manage to fit in size 6-9 moths and happily wear the next size up.

17 weeks later

This month has been such a joy due to Knitting and Stitching show and finally baby has made it to the 4 months bracket age. I have been so lucky with the progression of after birth and it's fair to say I started to feel like myself again beside being a new mama. Time flies so fast since I had babyG. I have such respect for all those mummy bloggers and crafters who can do daily post and making fabulous thing among looking after a family. Almost a sad thing to say that I have been looking forward more to preparing dinner and doing the house chores. And a quick Instagram feed is most of the time more convenient platform to stay in touch. Thou recently I've been inspired by few vloggers on YouTube to share experiences as honest as I possibly can.  A quick summary of what happen since  my maternity leave would just be to ambitious when only given a nap time to write.
This month babyG are finally settling into a small routine and I have a small confident to write a blog post again. So this blog as you may have already recognised has move on slightly toward my experience on being a mother other than just a lover of art, textiles and design. I hope you enjoy growing  together with me as a reader.

Yesterday I weight the baby to a health centre and was very pleased that babyG (bG) is doing perfectly fine. All the perseverance in the first month after birth on breastfeeding has paid off. I found the choice on exclusively breastfeeding her was simpler than expected even when it had to be done in public. The only major drawback is the lack of pretty top I have to wear when I get the chance to go out, due to accessibility easiness before bG starts to cry.

They say 'Your life is over' after you had a baby. I found the journey so far is couldn't be near to the truth. I have explored and learnt so many new things and the satisfaction was better than I would have hope for. Little things become even more meaningful and since I lost my stepfather last year. Our family bonding is closer and more important than anything else.

Petit Aime boutique

A walk along Westbourne Gorve bring back a slightly nostalgic feel and always takes me back to the second time I move to England for good, and this was the area where I get to know real 'British' culture.
Now that I am about to embark another chapter in my life, priority change when it comes buying material things.
Petit Aime in Ledbury Road has been on my list for quite sometimes on a place to visit. Luckily now there is a better excuse to really pop by and coincide with some other meeting arrangement around the area.
With the help of London map on the Barclays bike point, I found the street fairly quickly and it was 13 minutes away from Notting Hill gate (Should be about 6 minute in normal walking phase). Greeted by the bon bon window display for their Spring-summer styling, I found the space very relax, clean and full of treasures. I particularly love the small stock collection of the many European brand that has a hand made feel, and designer-maker quality of product. There are option also for those who love muted colours on children's wear, or for those love the brightly colour combination trend. Of course they also have wonderful traditional toys, and books that are pleasant enough to buy as a treat for the little one. Their print collection for greeting cards, and wall art were not not harsh on the eye, but fun enough to stand out for a small living area space.

There are many beautiful children shop if you walk along Ledbury road. The little croissant (37 week yrs old bebe) in my belly were too excited at lunch time and I had to leave the lovely array of shops and find a place to sit down and rest.

Inspired by a good session at the atenatal yoga class this morning. I picked up a Maileg doll to accompany an old bunny that has been looking rather lonely in my house and manage to do a quick whizz on the sewing machine and made a little dress to greet her new friend.

Shop for play and colour in Crouch end.

Niddle noodle in Crouch End is the busiest children's wear and toy shop I've came across on sunny Saturday morning. I've manage to resist the many wonderful Nathalie Lete's product tuck in amongst the corner (and window display) of this shop.

Thou this one hand printed greeting card by Belinda Chen is hard to leave behind.

A start to a good year.

Fantastic things has been happening since 2014 started. Besides having yet more amazing home-made food, and having friends around for a crafty workshop. Receiving many beautiful letters from my friends were also becoming some more highlights to a good season.
Here are some of my favourite new brands that I have come across in the past two months.
Gina Pipet Design I was very lucky to be invited for the new Spring/Summer 2014 preview of Miss Pipet's design by one of my bosses. Her pattern are so modern yet timeless and made such a fun accessories to wear.
Ciate nail I finally treated myself with some nail colouring product other than painting it in red. I've come across the packaging for a while and finally manage to find the perfect colour in Fortnum and Mason. I love the consistency of the varnish and the brush is easily applied when manicure rush needed to be done.
Orelia Jewellery I fell in love with their colour palette when I saw their stand in Topshop Oxford Street, London. Their website is full of glimmering choices you need almost a whole evening to decide which one to get. The company is based in Brighton and I was really happy with the sweet wrapping that I have received through the post.
Mama Mio This brand is just superb. From their safe ingredients contents, and brand philosophy there is nothing negative I can think of to criticise their product. It started with the small sample give away, then it led me to buy first, second and now I am currently stocking up onto my 7th bottle loving every single apply on using their selection of product. I have introduced this to my partner and his family and they all approve that it works and they are still happy using it (even for the men, Yes) . Mama Mio has brilliant new packaging, and product this year do watch out for their gorgeous pink and orange labelling in gym, health spa, and excellent maternity store.
Bonpoint Their store in Sloane Street is beautiful of lovingly made garments for infants, and up to 12 years old. I was introduced by their appreciation on hand crafted pieces when I was researching one of my project of my study year in textiles. Their use of Liberty print on some of the accessories are very well made and happily sits in my handbag as my make-up pouch (with much bashing, and wiping as typical as inside a women's bag).

Thank you for reading this post. I have reviewed all the product  according to my own experience and my own willing to purchase.
Meeting my friends has lift me up in a better mood and coming back towards creative journey again. I hope to post some more colourful sharing next week.
